The Tour AD IZ, like all of the premium Tour AD wood shafts the range utilises premium aerospace quality 50 ton carbon fibre materials. This delivers the best feeling and performing shaft available to golfers. The Tour AD IZ is available in 40g, 50g, 60g, 70g and 80g.
The Tour AD IZ shaft has a firm stiffness starting at the handle, a medium centre section and a firm+ tip profile to promote a high launch angle and low ball spin rates. The Tour AD IZ also utilises TORAYCA ® T1100G carbon fibre pre-preg with NANOALLOY ® technology in the tip section of the shaft for additional shaft stability, exceptional feel and precise ball control.
TORAYCA ® pre-preg using T1100G carbon fibre with NANOALLOY ® technology is unlike conventional pre-preg materials and it is comprised of both higher modulus and very high tensile strength fibres. The resin system of TORAYCA ®T1100G pre-preg is also based on NANOALLOY ® Technology for added strength and vibration dampening.
TORAYCA ® T1100G advanced material technology allows Graphite Design engineers to fine tune specific zones of the shaft stiffness for added stability without a gain in structure weight resulting in the next generation of high-performance Tour AD graphite golf shafts that provide superior Accuracy and Distance with every shot. This technology may be found in the MAD and the Tour AD, VF, UB, HD, XC, VR, IZ, and Tour AD M9003 models of wood shafts.
Material Stiffness Integration - MSI, is the main design concept by which Graphite Design develops golf shafts. Composite materials consist of two main components, graphite fibre and resin.
The stiffness of each fibre has an impact on how much vibration is transmitted up the shaft affecting the feel of the shaft. The resin acts more like a sponge absorbing the vibrations, creating an exquisite feel.
